Terms of Service

1. Who You Are Contracting With

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and typebyline ("typebyline", "we", "us", or "our"), which operates the Typebyline language-learning service (the "Service") at typebyline.com. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Typebyline is a language-learning platform that helps users learn languages by typing, listening to, and translating real stories sentence by sentence.

3. Accounts

You must be of legal age to form a binding contract, or have the consent of a parent or guardian. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

4. Subscriptions, Payments and Merchant of Record

Premium features are available through a paid subscription. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Prices are shown on the pricing page and may include applicable taxes.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. This means Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited and its affiliates) appears on your card statement, charges and remits applicable taxes, and is the party legally responsible for the sale to you. Payment, billing, taxes, cancellations and refund mechanics are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or via paddle.net. After cancellation, you will retain access to premium features until the end of the current billing period.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including: unlawful use, fraud or spam, infringing intellectual-property rights, attempting to gain unauthorized access, probing or interfering with security, distributing malware, scraping content, or abusing the AI features.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, content, branding and trademarks that make up the Service are owned by typebyline or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within your selected plan. You may not reverse-engineer, resell, redistribute, or circumvent any technical limits of the Service.

8. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, typebyline shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

10. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay applicable fees, pose a security or fraud risk, or engage in repeated or serious policy violations. On termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately and we may delete associated data after a reasonable period.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
